BRUMALE TRUFFLE

Tuber Brumale Vitt.

DESCRIPTION
Often confused with the Black Truffle, the Brumale Truffle is tinged on the covering with dark and brownish nuances marked by large warty areas. The gleba, instead, has smoky-grey or grey-brownish shades and shows sparse, pronounced veins. Its intense aroma and flavour hide notes of hazelnut, almond and/or nutmeg.

HARVEST SEASON
From early January to mid-March.

Piedmont, Tuscany, Emilia Romagna, Marche, Umbria, Lazio, Abruzzo, Molise.

SYMBIOTIC PLANTS
Downy Oak Tree, Holm Oak Tree, Turkey Oak, Hazel Tree, Hornbeam Tree, Cistus, Black Pine.

STORAGE MODE
The Brumale Truffle can be kept in the fridge wrapped in absorbent or rough paper, making sure that it always remains dry. It can also be sealed in a glass jar and stored in the refrigerator. The fresh Brumale Truffle will be preserved for about ten days.
